Monthly ministry letter

Grace for the Season

A monthly letter of biblical encouragement

Peace in the Midst of Trouble

Jesus never promised that following Him would remove every hardship. He spoke honestly about the trouble we would face, but He also gave us a greater promise: in Him, we can have peace.

Jesus reminds us that trouble does not have the final word:

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

John 16:33 (NKJV)

The peace Jesus gives is not based on everything going our way. It is rooted in knowing that He is with us, that He is greater than what we face, and that He has already overcome the world. We may feel sorrow, fear, or uncertainty, yet we do not face any of it alone.

Being of good cheer does not mean pretending that pain is not real. It means choosing courage because our hope rests in Jesus. The storm may still be around us, but Christ can steady our hearts within it.

A truth to carry

Christ's peace is greater than the trouble around you.

The world may offer temporary comfort, but Jesus offers peace that reaches the deepest places of the heart. His presence does not always change our circumstances immediately, but it changes how we walk through them.

Because Christ has overcome, fear does not have to rule us, sorrow does not have to define us, and hardship cannot separate us from His love.

Put faith into practice

Three Practices for This Month

  1. Begin with the words of Jesus.Read John 16:33 slowly each morning. Let Christ's promise of peace speak more loudly than the worries competing for your attention.
  2. Give your trouble to God.Name the burden you are carrying and bring it honestly to the Lord in prayer. Ask Him for the strength and peace you need for today.
  3. Speak courage to someone else.Share this verse with someone who is discouraged. A call, message, or simple prayer may remind them that they are not alone.

A question for reflection

What trouble are you carrying that Jesus is inviting you to place into His hands?

Take a quiet moment to name it before God. Then ask Him to replace fear with faith and unrest with His peace.

A prayer for the season

Let us pray

Lord Jesus, thank You for speaking peace into a troubled world. When I feel overwhelmed, remind me that You are near. Help me bring every fear, sorrow, and uncertainty to You. Steady my heart, strengthen my faith, and give me courage to face today. Because You have overcome the world, help me walk in hope and share that hope with others. Amen.

Until next month

Whatever you face, remember that trouble is temporary, but the victory of Christ is eternal. May His presence quiet your heart and His peace carry you through each day.

My ministry journey

Called by God to serve.

God called me at a young age, and through every season He has prepared me to bring hope, freedom, and the love of Christ to others.

I first sensed God calling me to ministry when I was young. In the 1990s, I served as a youth minister, helping young people grow in their faith and understand that God had a purpose for their lives. That early calling became the foundation for the ministry work God would lead me into through the years.

In 2005, I earned my Bachelor of Ministry degree. That same year, I served as a counselor to poor and homeless individuals and families through Tampa Metropolitan Ministries in Tampa, Florida. This work strengthened my compassion for people facing hardship and taught me the importance of serving with dignity, patience, and the love of Jesus Christ.

In 2007, I served as a licensed chemical dependency counselor at New Destiny Treatment Center. I worked with people struggling with addiction and helped them pursue recovery, restoration, and a new direction for their lives. God used this season to deepen my heart for those who feel trapped by addiction and other forms of bondage.

I later served for two years as an evangelist, speaking about the freedom and deliverance found in Jesus Christ. My message was—and remains—that no bondage is greater than the saving and restoring power of God.

In 2018, God called my wife, Kathy, and me back into ministry together. Since then, He has taken us through a season of preparation and led us to begin Shepherds Heart Christian Ministries. Our desire is to serve people who are elderly, disabled, homeless, hurting, or overlooked through prayer, biblical encouragement, compassionate care, and practical help.

I am currently working toward my Master of Ministry degree and expect to complete my certification as a life coach by the end of September 2026. I continue learning because I want to serve people faithfully, responsibly, and with excellence.

Looking back, I can see God's hand through every season. What began as a calling in my youth has grown into a lifelong commitment to share the hope of Jesus Christ and serve people with faith, hope, and love. That is the heart behind Shepherds Heart Christian Ministries.
